the thrill of it all…

CINDYTALK played at the wonderful Supernormal Festival in Oxfordshire on Sunday 10th of August.

“At the other end of the emotional spectrum, Cindytalk are immensely powerful, erecting a dense and detailed
field of granular noise over which Gordon Sharp layers his narratives of lament.” (Joseph Stannard Wire Magazine 10/14)

“[Cindytalk] showed us somewhere else, between here and there, at the junction of roots and under the oiuja
cup, in the soul of dust, and the edges where objects and air meet as we feel our way through pitch dark rooms.
very rare places to share. Thank you.” (Matthew Smart)

“Cindytalk summon in the dusk, with the echoes of salvaged folk acapellas clinging to a hurricane of broken objects,
half-assembled drumkit and guitar treacle. The noise sounds like a natural disaster teasing down a building frame,
dismantling into a state of loss and shadow ritual. I feel like I’m levitating off the floor ever so slightly…”
(Jack Chuter @ Attn:Magazine)

“It’s true though, that this set was not at all set up for a video shoot, which would have done it little, no or negative
justice. You HAD to be there in the setting of place and time as the dusk was approaching on the hinge of the evening towards
the night and a large rainbow arced the sky behind the audience’s heads. Cindytalk sustained waves of shimmering iridescence
and were ardently engrossing. It’s hard to get that kind of stuff down on a video film.” (Halvard Ja Kwez)
